Ultimate Reset, Day SIX!

Ultimate Reset, Day SIX!

Nearing the end of Week One!  Honestly, it has NOT been that bad.  Today was the first day I had cravings and I really contribute that to being at the ball field from 9am until 2pm.  I had to eat breakfast earlier than I have […]

Ultimate Reset, Day 4!

Ultimate Reset, Day 4!

Another day DONE! This is going to be a quickie update because my guys are waiting for me! Breakfast:   Oatmeal, yogurt & blueberries…..LOVE this one & its off the menu next week so I’m eating it while I can! Lunch:  Microgreen salad & lentil […]

Ultimate Reset, Day THREE!

Ultimate Reset, Day THREE!

It is nearing the end of day 3!

I feel good!  No complaints. I’m so glad I gave up coffee a month ahead of time, although I do miss my morning ritual and will probably go back to it once the reset is over, but its still too early to tell.  I peeked at the scale this morning and was down 3 lbs.  BUT…I did indulge a bit over the weekend with some pizza, so I would say that those 3 lbs were just from that.  My husband has lost 4 lbs already! MEN!

Right now, I’m waiting for dinner to be ready.  We are skipping the Nori rolls and having the beans & rice that we had last night.  Its ok to substitute breakfast for breakfast, dinner for dinner, etc as long as its within the same week.  Since we really enjoyed last night’s dinner & neither of us eat soy, I’m so ready for dinner tonight!

Last night, I went to bed at 10pm and slept until 6:30am.  The only difference that I noticed today from any other morning is that I never wake up and want to get up.  I love sleeping in the morning, maybe because I stay up too late & toss and turn most nights!  Last night, I went right to sleep (after my 30 minutes of reading).  I woke up refreshed & had changed the sheets on all 3 beds & started a load of laundry all by 7am!

(what I’m reading to help my team of coaches!)

Breakfast today:  Oatmeal, blueberries & yogurt (see yesterday’s photo)  Its SOOOO good!
Lunch today:  Microgreen salad and miso soup (see Day One’s photo!)
    * I rushed out of the house and forgot my miso soup!!!  I had put it in a coffee travel mug to take with me!   I was SO hungry after the kids’ sports class so I caved and had an approved snack.  One green apple & 1 Tsp of natural peanut butter.
                                                                                                                       (*not my photo)

As I mentioned above, tonight we are having the Southwest Black Bean Taco again.  So, no picture!  I think it would be a bit monotonous to repeat the same photos, right?!

Mood:  Fine  (husband’s mood…cranky)
Hunger:  Yes, tonight I’m hungry…but its dinnertime so I should be hungry!
Cravings?  None  (husband…yes!…hence the crankiness!)
Sleep:  Good.  (husband’s sleep better than normal-still wakes up once during the night but now stays in bed, getting up earlier too)

I do miss my Shakeology but it will be back soon!  I need to set my timer on my phone each day because I’m eating at different times.  I am finding that I need to eat breakfast at 9am instead of our normal 7am so that my lunch can be eaten around 1pm and dinner around 6:30pm.  Normally, we eat at 7:30-8am, 11am, 1pm, 4pm and 6pm.  It will be worth it though!!!!

I realized that my husband tends to focus on what we cannot have rather than what we CAN have.  We had a discussion about this today.  He was saying he never has time for anything anymore.  I asked him if he enjoyed doing what he was doing when he was busy and he said ‘yes’.  So, why focus on the things that are obviously not AS important as what we are  so busy doing?   I’m extremely busy homeschooling my kids, running my own business, taking care of my home, visiting my friends & family & taking care of myself.   I do not have much time for the extras.  The “it would be nice to….” type of things.  YES.  I would love to go horseback riding more or take long bike rides alone but not if it takes me away from whats more important.  There is time for everything though, we just need to mark our calendars and make it happen!

What IS Shakeology?!

What IS Shakeology?!

Watch this brief video & hear it straight from Darin Olien, the creator of Shakeology!

WOW.  I have seen a LOT of posts

WOW.  I have seen a LOT of posts

WOW.  I have seen a LOT of posts recently bashing Beachbody & its coaches.  Kind of a lot of strong feelings & hatred toward us I guess!

I do have to laugh when I see posts about how P90X is not a “real” workout.  I saw it being compared to Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred.  I think Jillian Michaels is great and I have no reason to bash her but comparing her workout to Tony Horton’s is silly.  They are two completely different workouts.

Someone else said Insanity is boring.  Really?  Ok….everyone has their own opinion!  I love it!

Image

Someone said that Chalene Johnson is the most annoying person on the planet.  I guess being passionate about something is annoying.  Not everyone is going to like everyone!

Image

I saw a LOT of posts about Shakeology.  Overpriced.  Garbage.  Tastes awful.  The comments went on & on.

ImagePrice:  Its $130 per bag.   Thats $4.30 per shake.  I used to spend $5+ at McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, random coffee shops and cafes.  I was getting far less nutritional food for more money.  How many vitamins were in my bagel sandwich?  Probably not many!  Even my healthiest options at a nicer restaurant were not giving me the same nutrients that Shakeology gives me.  Some will say they just eat at home, which is GREAT!  Are you getting ALL of the vitamins that Shakeology has?

Then, the comments about the coaches.  Well, I have to admit, some of them annoy me too.  Some are obnoxious with their postings but most just care about other people and how else are they going to promote their business if they don’t advertise it?  MOST are not dieticians, nutritionists, doctors, nurses, etc. but some are.  I am not.  I never claimed to be one.  What I offer my customers is assistance in finding the right programs, the right meal plans and directing them in creating their own path for their journey.  I don’t tell people what to eat but I do help them in finding the information.  Beachbody offers meal plans and usually, I will direct people to the Eat Clean Diet by Tosca Reno (although I terribly dislike the use of the word diet).

“Its a pyramid scheme”…not its not.

pyramid scheme  n.

A fraudulent moneymaking scheme in which people are recruited to make payments to others above them in a hierarchy while expecting to receive payments from people recruited below them. Eventually the number of new recruits fails to sustain the payment structure, and the scheme collapses with most people losing the money they paid in.

It IS Multi Level Marketing:
Multi-level marketing (MLM) is a marketing strategy in which the sales force is compensated not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of others they recruit, creating a downline of distributors and a hierarchy of multiple levels of compensation.

There are MANY other MLM companies in existence.  Amway, Melaleuca, Isagenix, Herbalife, Arbonne, Xango, Morinda, Shaklee, Forever Living, Monavie, Pampered Chef, Partylite, Stampin Up, Creative Memories, Tastefully Simple, Avon and many others.

What I don’t understand is why the bashing is done to Beachbody but not to Herbalife or Isanegix, which basically promotes shakes that have artificial ingredients in them!  Maybe its because they have been around since 1980 and its a household name.  Beachbody is fairly new, originated in 1998 but did not start with the coaching opportunity until 2008.

I became a coach in 2010 because I wanted to save the 25% on the products and especially, Shakeology.  I didn’t pay much attention to the business side of the opportunity though.  I didn’t think I could do it.  Fast forward 3 years and I’m a Diamond Coach.  I don’t have to leave my kids to go to a job, I’m able to bring in an additional income to my husband’s 2 full time jobs and I can supply us with the extras.  He can take days off from his electrical business without worrying about the bills!

This is a full time job to many people.  So, instead of being aggravated that they are posting on Facebook, understand that this is their income.  If it doesn’t interest you, just move on and read something else.  If your “so sick of seeing Beachbody coaching pages”  don’t like them!  I don’t have the slightest interest in Avon-but I don’t get mad that people invite me to their parties or send me their booklets.  I just kindly decline their offer-at least they are trying to build a business on their own.

Hopefully people will see that Beachbody is serious about their passion & mission to help End the Trend of Obesity.  Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all just get along?  🙂

KidsBuild Boston

KidsBuild Boston

KidsBuild Boston!

We took the boys to an event in Boston on Saturday that was amazing.  It was hosted by BSA (Boston Society of Architecture) and was 100% free.

The boys were able to choose any building in a city and then design & create it using all recyclable items that were supplied by BSA.

First, the kids had to decide what kind of building they wanted to design….of course, they chose a Public Works Building so they could do a fire station & a police station!
Next, we had to get our building permit (center)  and then, we went to see the city block where our building would go.

Then….we got to the materials.  This was the boys favorite part.  There was SO much to choose from, they really didn’t even know where to start!  They just started grabbing tiles, foam, springs, nails, chains, boxes, etc.  They had a blast!
And then, it was time to get down to work!
When it was completed, we had the building photographed, received our stamp of approval & placed our model on the street where it will remain!

They even got to pick a new name for the city!
PS….if anyone know how to get the photos to line up better, please message me!
